the story of the mountain and the cloud

this is my first story book, of many i hope. the story is about a mountain trying to speak to clouds, but they operate at such different speeds it proves difficult. the mountain learns an important lesson about cycles and time. pretty pictures, beautiful lettering by sarah ayton. you can hear me read it here.

changes of state

i recorded this is my bedroom originally as reference for me, so i wouldn't loose songs in my memory. but but but, i needed something to sell at shows that was more recent and well, people seem to like it. i have a bunch of this e.p. left. it comes with a really pretty booklet and has eight songs. i think my voice was recorded well.

may all yr children be dragons

20 songs written in between guelph and beijing in 2007. i think there are some real gems on this one. richard laviolette, griffin epstien and lee brady drove me out to halifax and kept me fed while i recorded it. what wonderful people! recorded in halifax by andy march, it was supposed to be a split release between youthclub and burnt oak records but youth club just never bothered to post it to their catalogue for reasons that have yet to be named... ask them why at youthclubrecords@gmail.com, if you hear anything, let me know. this is a full length i have SO MANY copies of. if you order it from this blog, i will send you two copies. one for you and one for someone you love. oooor

devil in the clock

i recorded this in a rushed day in the basement of 127 grange st. in guelph. it got a really wonderful bad review in the echo which said something to the effect of 'why would you ever record this let alone send it to a magazine to be reviewed.' the reviewer said that the only saving grace was that i sounded like michael stipe. they rated songs by facial expressions and his looked like he'd been hit in the crotch with a rag used to clean a large dog after it had been sprayed by a humongous skunk. it was the first thing that burnt oak put out and has 18 songs. it's available for free here.

the first one's free

this bunch of songs i recorded in my room and bathroom in 2004? i think, yeah... 2004 in the fall. it's available for free here.
i can send burned copies to folks if they are really interested, but that will cost a dollar. or and interesting trade.
